During a carpfishing session, tiger nuts are undoubtedly the most common and most effective alternative to using classic boiles. These tubers literally drive our mustachioed friends crazy and being very rich in protein are excellent supplements for their nutrition.

Generally used as a ginger, they can also be crushed and used in paste.

Decidedly resistant to rotting, tiger nuts are at their best during extended sessions typical of the hottest season, although they can be safely used throughout the year.

They are a very economical yet selective bait, ideal in waters densely populated with unwanted guests such as shrimp and catfish.

If you buy dry tiger nuts, available in our shop in standard 6-12mm or XL 12-18mm sizes, è it is essential to pay great attention to their preparation. Tiger nuts must be soaked for 36 hours and then boiled for 45 minutes. Only in this way will they be effective and not harmful to our prey.

Following proper preparation they can be flavored with your favorite attractants for a truly killer result.

For those who do not have the time to subject tiger nuts to the’entire process, they also exist in already precooked version.

Warning: this product è suitable only and exclusively for sport fishing, not suitable for human use.

Why use Tiger Nuts in carpfishing?

These small tubers are irresistible to carp: thanks to their high protein content and sweet taste, they literally drive them crazy! The tiger nuts for carpfishing are a natural, highly digestible and nutrient-rich bait, making them perfect even for longer sessions. Another great advantage is their resistance to rotting, which makes them ideal especially in the warmer months when boilies and other baits tend to deteriorate faster.

You can use dry tiger nuts as bait, either singly or in combination with other baits, or crush them and use them for pasting, increasing the attractiveness of your spot and stimulating carp feeding. Being a selective bait, they help reduce the presence of unwanted guests such as crayfish and catfish, making your fishing strategy more effective. Moreover, they are a cheaper and long-lasting solution, perfect for those looking for an effective bait without spending a fortune.

Preparation of dried Tiger Nuts

If you choose dry tiger nuts, available in our shop in standard and XL sizes, it is essential to prepare them properly:

  1. Soak them. Soak them in water for at least 36 hours. This process rehydrates them and makes them softer, making them easier for carp to digest.
  2. Baking. After soaking, boil them for about 45 minutes. This step activates the natural sugars contained in the tubers, making them even more attractive and appetising.

After cooking, you can enhance the effectiveness of the tiger nuts by letting them ferment for a few days or by adding your favourite attractants, such as sweeteners, flavourings or stimulating liquids. This will make them even more irresistible to carp.

If you don't have time to prepare them, you can opt for cooked tiger nuts, which are ready-to-use and ideal for those who want a practical and immediate solution without sacrificing effectiveness.
