5 reasons to use PVA

25 July 2025

The use of PVA in all its forms is often considered an optional alternative in carp fishing, but in reality it is a tool with great potential that can make a difference in many situations. Whether in nets, bowlers or stringers, PVA allows you to improve your presentation and increase your chances of catching fish. Here are 5 reasons why you should use it:

  • Maximum precision: PVA allows you to concentrate a small amount of bait exactly around our bait, making the area immediately surrounding it more interesting and increasing the curiosity of baited fish.
  • Maximum speed of entry into fishing: especially using stick mixes, pellets, liquids or other extremely fast baits, significantly increases the level of fish attraction to our bait, which will stand out from the rest of the baited area.
  • Reduction of tangles: the use of nets slid over the terminal or, even more so, the use of the famous bowler technique, protect us from the risk of the terminal tangling when casting or lowering from the boat.

  • Perfect presentation of the terminal: the use of PVA protects us from the vegetation, in suspension or carried by the current, which our terminal could encounter during the descent to the bottom, thus making it arrive on the spot in the best possible position to take full advantage of the mechanics of the rig.
  • Total adaptability to every spot and fishing condition: the use of PVA has a very wide field of application, which goes beyond the simple means of baiting. In fact, if used, for example, in the form of foam, it becomes a true technical tool capable of benefiting us by preventing the bait from sinking in muddy bottoms, protecting the hook tip in the presence of stones, or helping the terminal to stretch securely when zig rig fishing.

Experimenting in its use and adapting it to different conditions and needs is the key to making the most of it. PVA should therefore not be a plan B in our strategy, but can play an important role in improving presentation and bait attraction. From casting, to the boat, in rivers or lakes, to difficult bottoms, PVA can really make a difference.
